South Sudan sanctions

The South Sudan (European Union Financial Sanctions) (No. 2) Regulations 2015

2015 No. 1361 came into effect on 10 June 2015. This regulation was made in order to provide UK criminal penalties for breach of EU Council Regulation (EU) No. 2015/735. This EU regulation itself implemented in the EU the UN Security Council adopted Resolution 2206 (2015) of 3 March 2015 which introduced a UN sanctions regime in respect of South Sudan.

The above regulations forbid any dealing with funds or economic resources belonging to, or owned, held or controlled by, a designated person if P knows, or has reasonable cause to suspect, that P is dealing with such funds or economic resources.
